CARLOS AZEVEDO | Mexico | silkscreen print, limited edition of 8 | 2025
This work is based on an original drawing from 1998, made during a trip to Mexico.
Perhaps due to the circumstances of the journey, the artist used drawing materials that did not withstand the passage of time, and excessive exposure to sunlight caused it to evolve into the form shown below.
This sparked an interest in applying the original iconography in an exercise of revisiting the drawing, which culminated in the production of multiples using the screen printing technique. The current graphic design varies from the original drawing, challenging us to play a ‘spot the difference’ game. The entire production process was carried out in the artist's studio in 2025.
